Build a Better Ottawa Campaign

We want City Council to build a city we can all be proud to call home. A city that is inclusive, healthy, diverse, culturally vibrant and safe.

But over the past ten years, city budget constraints have led to reductions in services and growing inequality in our community. In fact, the City Of Ottawa now spends less than other major Ontario municipalities in many key areas, including public health and assistance to seniors.

Investments in programs and services have just not kept pace with the needs of a growing city. Instead, we’ve had tax freezes, but these have come at a high price. This situation has been made worse as both provincial and federal governments have reduced their contributions to struggling municipal governments. Something has to give.

We want City Council to reinforce the fabric that supports a caring, safe, healthy, environmentally sustainable and inclusive city. We want Council to improve city programs and services and foster arts and culture.
